Eli & Charlotte: A Rainy Adelaide Botanic Garden Wedding at Araucaria Avenue
Some weddings stay with you long after the gallery is delivered. Eli and Charlotte's was one of those days. A young couple, an intimate ceremony beneath the towering pines of Araucaria Avenue in the Adelaide Botanic Garden, and rain that refused to dampen a single moment of it.
REAL WEDDINGS
When couples ask us about getting married at the Adelaide Botanic Garden, Araucaria Avenue is the spot we always come back to. The avenue of soaring Norfolk Island and bunya pines creates a natural cathedral, green and quiet and timeless. It is one of the most beautiful ceremony locations in Adelaide, and it suited Eli and Charlotte perfectly.
Their ceremony was small and deeply personal. The kind of day where every guest is someone who genuinely matters to the couple. You could feel it in the way everyone leaned in during the vows, and in the laughter that broke out between the quieter moments.

When the rain came
Adelaide weather had other plans. Partway through the day the rain arrived, and a lot of couples would have panicked. Eli and Charlotte did not. Out came the clear umbrellas, and what could have been a setback turned into the most iconic imagery of the entire day.

Eli and Charlotte came to us wanting a timeless, vintage look, and we built the edit around that vision. Grainier textures, lower contrast, soft open shadows and gentle blacks. The result feels less like a modern wedding gallery and more like something pulled from a film archive, warm and nostalgic and made to last.
This is the kind of direction we love. When a couple knows the feeling they want,
we can shape every frame around it.

After the ceremony we moved through the Botanic Garden for portraits. The gardens themselves, the heritage museum building with its grand columns, and the glasshouse full of greenery each gave us a completely different backdrop. For couples planning a Botanic Garden wedding, this variety is one of the location's quiet advantages. You can capture an entire range of moods within a short walk.

From the gardens, the celebration moved to Woodville Town Hall for the reception. A beautiful space to carry the evening into the night, and the perfect close to a day that started under the pines and ended on the dance floor.

There is something about a wedding party gathered under glass umbrellas, rain catching the light, everyone laughing, that you simply cannot plan for. The rain did not stop their love, and it gave us photographs that feel completely their own.

Reception at Woodville Town Hall

As the light faded and the rain softened, everyone made their way from the gardens into the warmth of Woodville Town Hall. The pace of the day shifted naturally, from quiet moments beneath the pines to speeches, music and a room full of people ready to celebrate.
