Adelaide weddings move differently. Intimate winery dinners in the Adelaide Hills, coastal ceremonies down in Fleurieu, long-table receptions in McLaren Vale, quiet garden weddings tucked around the city. The pace is slower here, the light stays golden longer, and the best moments usually happen in between the schedule.
We're Jay Chubby Wedding, a small studio with dedicated Adelaide photographers and videographers. The person you meet during planning is part of the same team photographing your day, editing your gallery, and helping things run smoothly from start to finish.

How We Photograph Adelaide Weddings
Adelaide weddings have a different rhythm to them. The timelines feel slower, the venues breathe more, and the best moments usually happen when nobody’s trying too hard. That’s the energy we lean into when we photograph a wedding here.
We keep things calm, organised and unobtrusive. We’ll guide when needed, step back when the moment is already working, and never turn your wedding into an all-day photoshoot. Family photos stay efficient, portraits stay natural, and the day keeps moving without feeling interrupted.
Our style sits somewhere between documentary and editorial. Honest moments first, beautiful light second, trends last. We love the warm vineyard sunsets of the Adelaide Hills, the soft coastal light around Fleurieu, and the quiet intimacy that Adelaide venues naturally have.
Most couples tell us they want photos that feel cinematic without feeling staged. That’s exactly what we aim for.

Where We Shoot in Adelaide
We photograph weddings across Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills, wine country and the South Australian coastline. Every area has a completely different atmosphere, which is why we approach each wedding differently instead of forcing the same style onto every venue.
Adelaide CBD & Inner City
Botanic Garden, North Terrace, Treasury 1860, State Library, Glenelg and the quieter streets around the city. Adelaide’s inner city works beautifully for couples who want elegant architecture, softer crowds and a more relaxed pace than larger cities.
Adelaide Hills
Golding Wines, Bird in Hand, The Lane, Howard Vineyard, Mount Lofty House and Mandalay House. The Adelaide Hills are probably the heart of South Australian weddings. Long vineyard views, soft golden sunsets and venues designed for slow, intimate celebrations.
Regional South Australia
We also travel across South Australia for destination weddings, farm weddings and multi-day celebrations. Some of our favourite weddings happen far outside the city where things feel a little less rushed and a lot more personal.
Kingsford The Barossa, Chateau Yaldara, St Hugo and Lambert Estate. Bigger landscapes, historic buildings and luxury vineyard venues. Barossa works especially well for editorial-style portraits and full weekend wedding celebrations.
Barossa Valley
Down The Rabbit Hole, Mitolo, Coriole, Bec Hardy and Serafino. McLaren Vale weddings feel warm, cinematic and slightly coastal at the same time. Amazing sunsets, wide open landscapes and some of the best reception atmospheres in South Australia.
McLaren Vale
Victor Harbor, Aldinga, Port Willunga and Normanville. Coastal weddings here feel quieter and more natural than most city beaches. Wind, changing light and open space make every gallery feel slightly different.

Our Adelaide Wedding Photography Style
Most couples come to us with a Pinterest board, a venue they love, and a rough feeling for how they want the day to look. That’s enough.
Our approach changes depending on the energy of the wedding, the venue, the light and the people in front of us. Some moments work best quietly documented. Others deserve a more editorial approach.
Most weddings naturally become a mix of both.
Documentary / Candid
Hands-off, observational coverage focused on real interactions and moments as they naturally unfold. This is how we photograph most ceremonies, receptions and in-between moments throughout the day.
More guided and intentional. Clean composition, elegant posing and fashion-inspired framing. Perfect for winery venues, modern architecture and couples who want portraits that feel elevated without feeling stiff.
Editorial
Warm light, richer tones and movement-focused storytelling inspired by film. Adelaide Hills sunsets, coastal landscapes and vineyard receptions naturally suit this style.
Cinematic
Hybrid
The balance we use most often. Documentary during the emotional parts of the day, editorial during portraits, cinematic when the light and location call for it. Flexible, natural and tailored to the wedding itself.

”We had such a great experience with Jay Chubby Wedding. My partner and I were part of a pre-wedding shoot, and the whole process was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, gave just the right amount of direction, and the photos turned out incredible. You can really see the care and attention to detail in their work. Highly recommend to any couple looking for wedding photography that feels both professional and personal.”

Frequently asked questions
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Adelaide?
Adelaide wedding photography typically ranges from smaller intimate coverage to full-day luxury wedding collections. Our packages start at $1,150, with most couples choosing coverage between 6 and 10 hours depending on their timeline and venue plans.
Do you offer hybrid photo and video packages?
Yes. Most Adelaide couples book photography and videography together so everything feels more seamless throughout the day. Hybrid packages also receive 10% off compared to booking photo and video separately.
How far in advance should we book an Adelaide wedding photographer?
For peak wedding season across Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills, we recommend booking 9 to 12 months ahead. Popular winery venues and spring Saturdays usually book first, while weekday and winter weddings often have more flexibility.
Do you travel across South Australia?
Yes. We regularly photograph weddings across the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Fleurieu Peninsula and regional South Australia. Travel within greater Adelaide is included, while longer-distance weddings are quoted individually depending on location.
What's your photography style?
Most of the day is photographed naturally and unobtrusively, focusing on real moments as they happen. When it comes to portraits, we give gentle direction so everything still feels relaxed, cinematic and true to you rather than overly posed.
We love honest emotion, beautiful light and storytelling that feels timeless rather than trend-driven. Adelaide weddings especially suit this style naturally, with the softer pace, vineyard landscapes and warm evening light.
How many photos will we receive?
A typical full-day Adelaide wedding gallery includes around 500 to 800 carefully edited images depending on the size and timeline of the wedding. We focus on quality over quantity and only deliver fully edited final images.
When will we get our wedding photos?
Within three weeks of your wedding day. We send a sneak peek gallery within 48 hours so you have something to share with family and friends straight away.
