Premium leather is heavier and finished by hand, so the colour shifts a little where the wax and oils sit. It arrives in its presentation box with white gloves, and the pages inside are the same true layflat fine art pages as every album we make.

Questions about premium leather

What makes premium leather different?

It is a heavier leather, finished by hand. Where the oils and wax shift, the colour lightens and darkens a little, so the cover has depth and every one its own character. Classic leather is even and smooth from one cover to the next.

Will our cover look exactly like the photographs?

Not exactly, and that is the point of it. Every cover carries its own small marks, creases and shading, so no two premium covers are alike. These are part of the leather, not faults.

How many colours are there?

13: from ash, nude and camel through biscotti, terracotta and claystone to cherry, cedar and molasses, a soft basalt, sage and a deep sassafras green, and raven black.

Which pressing suits premium leather?

Blind pressing, the words pressed in with no foil, looks its best on leather, and on premium leather it sits deep in the surface. Gold and the other foils work beautifully too.

Can parent albums be made in premium leather?

Yes. Parent albums take the same cover as your album, so a premium leather album comes with premium leather copies.

How long does a premium leather album take?

Once the pages are final, it is printed and bound by hand in Melbourne and reaches you about three weeks later.
