Layflat, from edge to edge

Each page is a rigid board, mounted back to back, so the album opens completely flat. A photograph can run across both pages with nothing lost in the fold, and the pages stay flat for years of looking through.

Questions about leather albums

How many leather colours are there?

12: ivory, white and latte, warm browns from butterscotch and cognac to merlot, navy, cobalt and teal, a deep green, a bright pink and black.

Does a blind pressing work on leather?

Beautifully. Leather is where a blind pressing, the words pressed in with no foil, looks its best: the letters sit as a darker hollow in the grain. Every foil works on classic leather too, white included.

Classic or premium leather?

Classic leather has an even, fine grain and a smooth satin face, the same from one cover to the next. Premium leather is heavier and finished by hand, so every cover carries its own marks and shading.

Will the colour look like it does on screen?

Close, but every screen shows colour a little differently, and leather deepens in soft light. If you are deciding between two, write to us and we will help you choose.

Which size should we choose?

Most couples choose 10 × 10": big enough for a photograph to fill a spread, small enough for a shelf. 12 × 12" is made for the coffee table, and 8 × 8" sits on any bookshelf.

How long does a leather album take?

Once the pages are final, it is printed and bound by hand in Melbourne and reaches you about three weeks later.
