Meet Agent Jay
Hey, I’m Jay!
Founder, photographer and videographer · Adelaide and Melbourne
Jay started Jay Chubby Wedding and still leads its creative direction. The background is cinema, documentaries and visual storytelling, and it shows in how a wedding day gets approached: as a story in motion, where light, movement, sound and feeling all shape how the day is remembered.
Based in Adelaide and Melbourne and working across Australia, Jay looks for the moments that feel quietly cinematic without being staged, and makes films that feel personal rather than overly polished. If you write to us, Jay is usually the one who writes back.

Hey, I’m Sofia!
Photographer and Super 8 filmmaker · Adelaide and Melbourne
Sofia is a photographer with a cinematic eye and an intuitive way of telling a story. A background in cinema studies means a wedding gets read through light, composition, colour and feeling, and the photographs come out personal, expressive and quietly artful.
Sofia’s work follows mood and honesty first: the connection between two people and the atmosphere of the day around them. At Jay Chubby Wedding that means a soft, artistic eye on every celebration, documented as both a memory and a piece of visual storytelling.

How it works
We shoot Kodak Super 8 through the part of your day you choose, then the cartridges go away to be developed and scanned at high resolution. Your film is edited to music and delivered online within 4 to 6 weeks.
Super 8 is silent. If you want your vows or speeches in it, they're recorded separately and woven through the edit, which comes included from ten hours.
Every film has a name
The First Light is short and soft, built around the ceremony. The Golden Hours follows half the day. The Long Exposure runs from getting ready into the reception, with your voices in it. The Director's Cut follows the whole day and comes with a short vertical teaser for sharing.
With videography
If you'd like a full cinematic film as well, add The Super 8 Touch to a videography collection. You'll get a Super 8 layer beside the film you'll rewatch for years.

A sample day with a 3:30 pm ceremony. Every wedding runs to its own timeline, and we plan yours with you before the day.
The Celebration: 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm, with first look, ceremony, family photos, portraits, entrance and speeches.

Questions couples ask
Is it real Super 8 or a filter?
Real Super 8 film. We shoot Kodak Super 8 cartridges, and every roll is developed and scanned at high resolution before it's edited.
Is there sound?
Super 8 is shot silent, and your film is set to music. Selected vows or speeches can be recorded separately and woven into the edit, which is included from ten hours and available for shorter films too.
How long does it take?
Your Super 8 film is delivered online within 4 to 6 weeks, because the cartridges have to be developed and scanned first.
Can we have Super 8 and videography?
Yes. Add The Super 8 Touch to a videography collection or a photo and video collection, and you'll have a Super 8 layer alongside your cinematic film.
How much Super 8 is shot?
From two rolls for three hours to five rolls for twelve. Each roll is a few minutes of footage, which is why a Super 8 filmmaker chooses what to shoot rather than filming everything.
Do we get the film itself?
Yes. Once it's developed and scanned in 4K HDR by our partner lab in Melbourne, the original film comes back to you, archived.
