The day is over in a few hours. Looking after it is our job for years.

Every photo and every clip from your wedding is copied into our studio archive, kept on more than one device and backed up off site, encrypted. And every photography, videography and photo and video collection includes your raw files, online for 12 months after delivery: every frame and every clip we captured, to look through and keep.

After the last dance

    Into the studio archive

    The cards come home with us and every photo and every clip is copied into our studio archive: a dedicated storage server on two mirrored drives, so if one drive ever fails the other carries on.

  2. Then

    A second copy

    Everything is copied again to a separate drive, so the whole wedding, raw video included, sits on two separate devices.

  3. Every night

    An encrypted copy off site

    Your photos, our edits and your finished films are backed up to Google Drive every night. They are encrypted in our studio before they leave, so only we hold the key and nobody else can open them, Google included.

  4. Within 48 hours

    A first handful of photos to share while the day is still fresh.

    Your gallery

    Your edited photos arrive in a private online gallery, and your films within 5 weeks by a delivery link.

    Your raw files

    A private link opens your own folder on our studio archive. Look through every raw photo and every clip, and download what you want to keep.

    Your finished photos and films stay in our archive. Raw video is kept for 12 months after delivery and raw photos for 3 years, and a person checks every folder before anything is deleted.

Your raw files, for 12 months

A gallery and a film are our choice of the day. The raw files are all of it: every frame we took and every clip we filmed, before any editing or colour. They are yours to look through for 12 months after delivery, through a private link to your own folder on our studio archive, and to download whatever you want to keep.

Raw files are unedited and ungraded, and they are for your personal use; copyright stays with Jay Chubby Wedding. Raw video plays in the free VLC player, and raw photos open in Lightroom or free editors such as darktable. The files are large, so plan a good connection and a drive with room to spare.

Questions about your files

Do you give couples their raw files?
Yes. Every photography, videography and photo and video collection includes your raw files: the raw photos, the raw footage or both, depending on what we covered. For 12 months after we deliver, a private link opens your folder on our studio archive, where you can look through everything and download what you want.
Is there an extra charge for the raw files?
No. Raw files are part of every wedding collection, listed with everything else the collection includes.
What exactly are raw files?
The files straight from our cameras, before we choose, edit or colour anything. Raw photos come in the camera’s RAW format, and raw video is the original footage from each camera. They show the whole day as we captured it, including the frames that didn’t make the gallery.
How do we open raw photos and video?
Raw video plays in the free VLC player on Mac and Windows. Raw photos open in Adobe Lightroom or in free editors such as darktable and RawTherapee, and most recent photo apps on Mac and Windows can preview them. The files are large, so download them over a good connection to a drive with plenty of space.
Can we use the raw files however we like?
They are for your personal use: keep them, look through them, share them with family. Copyright stays with Jay Chubby Wedding, as your agreement says, and they are unedited, so the gallery and the films are how we’d like the day to be seen.
How do you keep our photos and films safe?

How long do you keep our files?
We keep your finished photos and films in our archive. Raw video footage is kept for 12 months after we deliver and raw photos for 3 years. Your own access to the raw files lasts 12 months from delivery, so download what you want in that time.
Is raw video backed up to the cloud too?
Raw camera video is kept in two places, our studio archive and a separate drive, because the files are very large. Your photos, our edits and your finished films are kept in three places, one of them off site.
What if we lose our gallery or our copy of the films?
Get in touch. Your finished photos and films stay in our archive, so we can send them to you again.
Who can see our files?
Only our team, each with a personal login that opens just the folders they work on, and you, through your private links. The copy in the cloud is encrypted before it leaves the studio, so it can’t be read there.
